"Sustainable+Functional+Art (SFA) is a professional, artistic and creative company. The principals, Jane and Will Fowler, worked with us throughout the process (design to installation) to create a unique artistic piece that met our specific requirements. The result was an outside shower fixture made from a used (re-cycled) surfboard -- Hobie Alter would be proud. The mosaic surface, designed by Jane, required creativity, patience and artistic talent. The plumbing connection requirements designed by Will are no less impressive, not necessarily for their creativity, but for the simplicity to install. This was a "long distance" project. We first saw SFA's work in Solana Beach, California and immediately thought how wonderful a project like this would be in Captiva, Florida.
The process of this project was seamless, timely and the end product exceeded our expectations. The completed "art piece" arrived in Captiva in a framed, reinforced and framed by 2X4s, insulated with foam packing material rectangular box, all to protect our work of art for the 2700 mile trek. The shipping crate is strong and well designed and is now being used as a planter box. How is that for sustainable and functional!!!

"Happy to write about a wonderful artist. I commissioned Jane for a mosaic tile surfboard for my outside shower. She was able to customize it for my preferred shower system. The fee quoted was fair and she delivered at that cost including my customization. Jane proposed a time frame that was reasonable and delivered in time. A great experience."

"Jane created a beautiful back wall for my outdoor shower on the side of my garage. I had seen many pictures of her surfboards, but since I already have an outdoor shower, I needed the back wall to enhance the shower and my yard in general. I love it, as do all of my friends and family who visit. It is made of colorful green, blue and white glass tile and pieces of mirror. Jane worked with me on the design and colors and provided sketch drawings from which to choose. She offered several uniquely artistic designs and all would have worked! Will did an outstanding work on the installation. It was much fun working with both of them. It is truly a magnificent functional art masterpiece in my yard!"
